When looking at HUD listings, you may notice some properties have a repair fee that makes the property FHA insurable. Non-profits must be approved to purchase HUD homes at a discount under several HUD discount programs. I also have brought HUD foreclosures for myself to fix up and resell. HUD then makes the home available for sale to individual purchasers, often at extremely low prices.
